I did it! I never thought I would be able to last in Rexburg by myself with very minimal friends, but I have lasted 5 whole weeks! For the most part they have gone by pretty fast. I have been focusing on myself. Something I'm usually way too busy to do. So pretty much every day I have been working out or at least doing some sort of activity like riding my bike or playing softball. I've also been trying to eat more healthy. This past year I kinda just ate whatever I wanted and didn't really focus on getting the protein and iron I need. So I have been feeling GREAT! Last week I was feeling especially great so I wanted to see how far I could run in an hour. To my surprise, I was able to run 5 miles! So in my excitement I told my mother and she gave me a challenge. First it was if I could lose 10 pounds by the time I go home she would take me on a shopping spree. Then she changed it to for every pound I lose she'll give me 10 dollars. Yes I know, NORMAL parents reward their kids for doing well in school with money... nope my mother is all about weight loss. HAHA. Oh and I love it. My weight isn't really showing much, but I feel fantastic.
Today while I was working out I was staring at myself doing weights... and you know those days, where you are just disguised with how you look when you see yourself in the mirror?? That's usually how I am when I'm looking at myself while doing weights. Because I'm sweating profusely from running and I just look burned out and like blahh. However, today I was very pleased! I had a healthy glow to myself that I'm quite proud of. I think I'm finally drilling it into my head that health is a very important feature to life. Your body just gets worse with time... so might as well have it in tip top shape while you can!
Also, my mother suggested we do another 1/2 marathon in July. It's at Bryce Canyon and I really want to do it. So that's almost a year of training, which is a lot more than what I had for my other one. So I really think we are going to do it. So if you would like to join us... YOU SHOULD! It's by far the best feeling of accomplishments when you cross the finish line.
Only 6 more days until I'm home! Oh happy days!
It's a really good one today. Really anything from Joshua Radin is my favorite. The man is a genius!
